The Library Software Users Group (LiSUG) encourages discussion and education within and between informal interest groups of SUNY librarians and staff, each group organized around the common interest in a software system or package used by SUNY libraries. LiSUG holds an annual conference around the common interests of SUNY librarians and staff. Presentations include features or "how to" themes surrounding the aleph 500 library system, library websites, web 2.0/library 2.0, openURL, and other relevant technologies. In addition to the annual conference, LiSUG maintains discussion lists where general discussions of various library technologies takes place.
If you are interested in joining this committee, you can contact Andy Perry, LiSUG's current chair at: perrya@newpaltz.edu

Professional Development Grants
Did you know that SUNYLA has a small grants program that is used to reimburse members for expenses associated with professional growth activities? Administered by the Association’s Professional Development Committee, the program aims to reward the professional growth of individual members, while giving special consideration to those applicants who demonstrate how their own exposure to an activity will have broad impact on enhancing the development of other colleagues as well.
